MARSHALL COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION FEATURES
DIGITAL VIDEO BROADCASTING, RETURN CHANNEL SATELLITE (DVB-RCS)

FOR THE WARFIGHTER AT MILCOM 2006

ASHUBRN, VA. - October 2006 - Marshall Communications Corporation (MARSHALL), the leading provider of Digital Video Broadcast, Return Channel Satellite (DVB-RCS) services for the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), will be highlighting it's capabilities at the upcoming MILCOM 2006 Conference slated to take place October 23-25 a the Marriott Wardman Park and Omni Shoreham Hotels in Washington, DC.  This year's MILCOM Conference supports the theme "Networking the Warfighter".  MARSHALL will be exhibiting in booth number 902 in Hall B North.

MARSHALL's President and Chief Executive Officer, Sonny Marshall, will be presenting on Monday, October 23rd in a session titled "DVB Technologies and Video Communications."
Mr. Marshall's presentation will entail a discussion on DVB-RCS hub implentation, installation and integration, in which MARSHALL was awarded four (4) sole source contracts by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).  "MARSHALL is proud to have contributed to this very important DISA program which was the first major effort in defining and deploying new standards-based technologies for use by COCOMs," commented Sonny Marshall, President & CEO.

The standardize 2-way DVB-RCS satellite network is providing a crucial communications link in Iraq, while supporting near real-time streaming video, video teleconferencing, data, and video imagery communications.  The DVB-RCS hub is currently operational in Landstuhl, Germany, and is thereby communicating with standards-based, two-way bi-directional semi-ruggedized subscriber suites that have been deployed to allow remote users to access SIPRNet, receive Global Broadcast System (GBS) data and streaming MPEG2 & MPEG4 IP video.  DVB-RCS offers the warfighter secure, scalable broadband access for a wide range of networking IP applications.  DVB-RCS and DVB-S2 have been established as the protocol solutions for hub-spoke IP network topologies for DOD. (MARSHALL's booth #902 will have actual subscriber suites on display for viewing.)

In addition to highlighting "DVB-RCS for the Warfighter", MARSHALL's booth will focus on solutions for Homeland Security.  MARSHALL specializes in deploying communications networks for Emergency and Disaster Management Agencies, and providing assistance in developing and implementing "continuity of service" communications plans in advance of an emergency disaster.  MARSHALL has provided systems integration for satellite communications since 1991, which has proven to be a critical communications link among first responders in most any emergency response, rescue, or relief effort - at the state, local and federal level.
