MARSHALL COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION HIGHLIGHTS
THE LATEST IN SATELLITE TECHNOLOGY (DVB-RCS)
FOR THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
AT THE SIA DoD COMMERCIAL SATCOM USERS WORKSHOP

ASHUBRN, VA. - December 2006 - Marshall Communications Corporation (MARSHALL), will be showcasing the latest in commercial satellite technology, Digital Video Broadcast, Return Channel (DVB-RCS), at the DoD Commercial SATCOM Users Workshop hosted by the Satellite Industry Association (SIA).  The Workshop is slated to take place December 5-7 at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, VA.  MARSHALL is the leading provider of DVB-RCS services for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

The DoD workshop brings together decision makers from DoD Combatant Commands, Services and Agencies with satellite operators, service providers, resellers, ground equipment suppliers, and manufacturers.  This year's Workshop is supported by three (3) days of informative panel discussions, working group sessions and briefings featuring DoD and Commercial Satellite Industry leaders.  MARSHALL was invited to become a member of SIA in 2005.

MARSHALL's President and Chief Executive Officer, Sonny Marshall, will be a panelist on two (2) panel sessions on Thursday, December 7th.  This first Industry Panel is titled "New Satcom Modem, Terminals, Standards, and Synchronization"; followed later in the day with the second Industry Panel titled "UAV's (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) and Commercial SATCOM".

Mr. Marshall's discussion will entail Marshall Communications' involvement with DVB-RCS hub implentation, installation and integration, for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in providing two-way, high speed communications links for UAV operations in Iraq.   Since DVB-RCS and DVB-S2 have been established as the protocol solutions for hub-spoke IP network topologies for DOD, MARSHALL has been on the forefront of deploying new standards-based technology in today's battlespace.  Mr. Marshall adds, "Marshall Communications has been a major proponent of the DVB technology for years, and we are glad to be delivering the latest in satellite technology where it is contributing to DoD initiatives and efforts overseas."

MARSHALL's display will feature DVB-RCS solutions for UAV Video dissemination and Homeland Security.  MARSHALL specializes in deploying communications networks for Emergency and Disaster Management Agencies, and providing assistance in developing and implementing "continuity of service" communications plans in advance of an emergency disaster.  MARSHALL was instrumental in providing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customer Enforcement (CE) with a turnkey satellite-based solution, utilizing remote VSAT equipment, for Disaster Recovery to support both voice (VoIP) and data (internet) at a temporary site in New Orleans for relief efforts from Katrina.
